Silhouette Photography: Read and Write

This kind of technique gives photographs a more dramatic effect. It may seem easy to do this technique but normal photography rules don’t apply when taking silhouettes. The background must be brighter than the subject, who needs to look like a shadow to the photographer. Early morning or late afternoon are ideal for shooting silhouettes. Photographers must keep in mind that only the general shape of the subject is going to stand out in the photograph. Photographers must have a greater awareness of composition when using this technique than when taking normal photographs. Only the contrasting relationship between subject and the background matters.
